CT HEALTHY LIVING

Education for a healthier Connecticut

Inspiring individuals to improve their health

This innovative new website was spearheaded by the CT Healthy Living Collaborative, a consortium of statewide health care stakeholders, and with financial support from a federal grant. The website was created to promote and facilitate statewide participation in disease self-management programs, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes and contributing to a healthier Connecticut.

Challenge

Outdated and decentralized methods for managing the statewide health education program led to process redundancy, data silos and disjointed promotion of the program. Add to this a large team of stakeholders with individual requirements and concerns that had to be met by the new website. Our challenge was to develop a highly functioning technology platform with a user-friendly experience that makes healthy fun.

Concept

SandorMax set out to create an energetic and inspiring design that puts a positive face to taking control of one’s health. Our goal was to present healthy aging in an optimistic light, enhanced by uplifting photography and a fresh, bold color palette.

Solution

At the heart of the new website is a robust event management platform that integrates statewide educational workshops into a user-friendly search engine. The interactive calendar and online registration functionality streamlines processes and program management for all stakeholders. We facilitated and coordinated stakeholders in state agencies and regional partners to develop user-friendly health education content and resources. We also translated key content into Spanish to promote these inclusive programs.

Results

The new website boosted awareness exponentially for the statewide educational programs and increased participation in workshops. The platform we developed has streamlined work processes for regional partners and stakeholders while better serving target audiences, surpassing project expectations. After the success of the initial website launch, new evidence-based programs have been added, including Aging Mastery Programs®, developed by the National Council on Aging, as well as leadership workshops.

The website won the prestigious GDUSA Award for Health & Wellness Design and was featured on the AARP Connecticut website.

“Our experience with SandorMax exceeds expectations. Our project involved multiple organizations and stakeholders. The SandorMax team invested a great deal upfront to understand not only the scope and detail of our project but the values, vision and priorities of all involved. The project stayed on track and the outcome is a website we love.”
